Fellows of the AIIA

In 2008, in order to celebrate its 75th anniversary, the Australian Institute of International Affairs launched a Fellows program to recognise exceptional contributions to Australia’s international relations.

The overriding criterion for selection is a person with a strong connection to Australia who has achieved a very high level of distinction in, and made a distinguished contribution to, international affairs. Nominations received are assessed in confidence by a selection committee made up of members of AIIA’s National Executive and, once appointed, existing Fellows.

Nominations for 2023 Fellowship awards are now open. Any member or fellow of the Australian Institute of International Affairs can nominate a candidate for this highly prestigious award. Fellows will be decided by an independent committee appointed by the AIIA Board. Please nominate your candidate for an AIIA Fellowship by filling out this form. Nominations close on August 15, 2023.
