Genevieve Donnellon-May is a Researcher at Oxford Global Society, a non-resident Vasey Fellow at the Pacific Forum and a Fellow at the Indo-Pacific Studies Center. She sits on the advisory board member of Modern Diplomacy and is a Pacific Forum Young Leader.

Bob Bowker

Bob Bowker is an Honorary Professorial Fellow at the Centre for Arab and Islamic Studies at the Australian National University. He is a former Australian ambassador to several Arab countries.

Isabelle Zhu-Maguire

Isabelle Zhu-Maguire is a PhD candidate at the Coral Bell School of Asia and Pacific Affairs, Department of International Relations within the Australian National University. Her thesis investigates the ways in which Australia listens and responds to the climate advocacy of Pacific Island Nations. She has conducted extensive research into the experiences of women in Afghanistan and their perspectives and realities living through conflict, oppression, and climate change. Isabelle has also been advocate for greater youth inclusion within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Gina Anne Tam

Gina Anne Tam is an associate professor of history and co-chair of Women and Gender Studies at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. She is currently writing a book about women activists in post-war Hong Kong. This article is based on her article in the Historical Journal, which can be found here.

Erika Isabel Yague is a PhD Candidate in the School of Government and International Relations at Griffith University.

Dr Lesley Pruitt

Dr Lesley Pruitt is Associate Professor in the School of Social and Political Sciences and Research Affiliate of the Initiative for Peacebuilding at the University of Melbourne.

Professor Thomas Bruneau

Thomas Bruneau is Distinguished Professor Emeritus of National Security Affairs at the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey California. He joined the Department in 1987, became Chairman in 1989, and continued in that position until 1995. He became Director of the Center for Civil Military Relations in November 2000, a position he held until December 2004.

Dr Kaling Cheung

Dr Kaling Cheung has a pHd in Urban Planning from the University of Melbourne. Her research interests include urban development, housing policy and urban geography.

Associate Professor Jennifer Day

Associate Professor Jennifer Day works on issues of forced displacement and eviction, economic development, and urbanisation across Asia and the Pacific, and she is an expert in methods ranging from econometrics to qualitative storytelling. Jennie holds a PhD in City and Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master's degree in Civil Engineering from San Jose State University.

Dr Stephen Nagy

Dr Stephen Nagy is Professor of Politics and International Studies at the International Christian University, specialising in Indo-Pacific geopolitics and great power competition. He is serving as a Visiting Fellow for the Hungarian Institute for International Affairs (HIIA) June 13th-August 30th, 2025.  Concurrently, he holds strategic appointments as Senior Fellow at the MacDonald Laurier Institute, Research Fellow at the Canadian Global Affairs Institute, and Visiting Fellow at the Japan Institute for International Affairs. From 2017-2020, he served as Distinguished Fellow at the Asia Pacific Foundation and is currently senior fellow. He serves as the director of policy studies for the Yokosuka Council of Asia Pacific Studies (YCAPS), spearheading their Indo-Pacific Policy Dialogue series.
