In anticipation of Chinese President Xi Jingping’s state visit to the US this week, Dr Zhang Feng, expert on China’s foreign policy, shared his insights on recent developments in Sino-US relations. In controversial matters such as the South China Sea and cyber security, Australia is well positioned to play a bridging role between Washington and Beijing. Dr Zhang talked to AIIA Intern, Xunchao Zhang, in Canberra.
Dr Zhang Feng is a Fellow in the Department of International Relations, Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs, at the Australian National University. He is the author of “Chinese Hegemony: Grand Strategy and International Institutions in East Asian History” (Stanford, CA: Stanford University Press, 2015) recently launched at the Australian Centre on China in the World.
