Samuel Case

Sam is a PhD candidate in physics at the Australian National University, with research experience spanning high-pressure materials physics and computational modelling. His work has taken him from research and tutoring roles in Australia and New Zealand to the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) in Germany, where he conducted high-pressure experiments alongside researchers from around the world.

Samuel has a broad interest in international affairs, particularly Australia’s foreign policy challenges and multilateral cooperation. His scientific background informs his interest in science diplomacy, international research collaboration and the ways science and technology shape relations between countries. He is a Fellow of the Royal Commonwealth Society and serves on its ACT Branch Council. He holds a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Physics from the University of Auckland.
