Dr Serena Kelly

Dr Serena Kelly is Chair of the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs (NZIIA) and a Senior Lecturer Above the Bar in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Canterbury. Her research focuses on European Union (EU) foreign policy, EU-New Zealand relations, international trade and economic diplomacy, and Indo-Pacific geopolitics. She was the co-editor of Aotearoa New Zealand in World Affairs Volume V Against the Tide: Aotearoa New Zealand in World Affairs – Te Herenga Waka University Press and has published widely on international politics, trade, and foreign policy. Serena was Chair of the NZIIA Christchurch Branch from 2017 – 2021. She is also Vice-President of the European Studies Association of Australia and New Zealand.
