Dr Huong Le Thu

Dr Huong Le Thu is Deputy Director of the Asia-Pacific Program at the International Crisis Group, a global conflict prevention organisation. In 2025 Huong was appointed by Foreign Minister Penny Wong as an Eminent and Expert Person for the ASEAN Regional Forum. She is also the Chair of the Australia-Vietnam Policy Institute’s Advisory Board and a fellow of the Penn Project on the Future of U.S.-China Relations. Huong’s interests include Asia’s geopolitics, regional security architecture, Southeast Asia’s foreign and defence policies. Her publications appeared in Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, The Time, The Financial Times, Asian Nikkei Review, Japan Times, The Straits Times and many more.
