Nancy Schneider

Nancy Schneider is the national operations manager for the Australian Institute of International Affairs (AIIA) and the editor-in-chief of Australian Outlook, the online publication of the AIIA. Nancy is responsible for managing the AIIA’s media relations and online presence, the National Office internship program, and the #AIIANextGen Leaders Network. Nancy is involved in National Office programming activities, particularly the annual National Conference and overseas study tours, and she sits on several of the AIIA’s operation committees.

Previously, Nancy was a tutor in the Department of International Relations at the Australian National University. She has also worked as an academic coach for university students from non-English-speaking backgrounds and as an academic copyeditor. Between her undergraduate and postgraduate studies, Nancy founded then managed the Events Department of a busy recreation venue in her hometown of Huntington Beach, California, USA.

Nancy graduated with honours in 2018 from the Australian National University with a Master of International Relations (Advanced). Her thesis charted the increasing political prioritisation of noncommunicable diseases in international health policy. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Political Science and Spanish from the University of San Diego in California. Her research interests include US domestic politics, Latin American affairs, climate policy, and global health. She writes for Australian Outlook.
