Reimen Hii

Reimen Hii is the President of the AIIA Queensland. He is an Australian barrister (of Malaysian-Chinese heritage) with a practice focusing on commercial litigation, family law, public and administrative law, human rights, and public and private international law. He regularly appears in courts and tribunals throughout Australia, the South Pacific, and in South-East Asia for a wide range of clients in a variety of industries including individuals, professionals, government authorities, not-for-profit organisations, and corporations. His previous roles include working as a legal officer at a United Nations–backed war crimes tribunal in Cambodia, as a solicitor in private practice, a judge’s associate and as a registrar of the Supreme Court of Tonga.

Reimen was appointed an Adjunct Senior Lecturer by the University of Queensland (UQ) in 2024. He also teaches both at UQ’s TC Bernie School of Law including in Public International Law. In 2019, Reimen was awarded the Australian Young Lawyer of the Year by the Law Council of Australia for his pro bono and advocacy work.
