Lynne Duckham OAM, MBA, FiML(A&NZ): As an AIIA member since 2003, and an ACT Branch Councillor since 2023, Lynne brings her extensive Board, Council and committee experience with organizations including the Order of Australia Association ACT Council, ACT Reconciliation Council, Burgmann College ANU Board, Australian Outward Bound Board, SME Gateway Advisory Board, Rotary International club and district boards, and AFGC International Fisheries Working Group Chair. She has held positions of Board Chair, Secretary, and Risk and Audit, Strategy, Rules and Finance committee Chairs.
Lynne’s professional international career began at 24 when she was a Policy and Planning Officer for the PNG Government Education Department, responsible for the development and management of nationwide programs – including a nationwide industry and government media campaign – and related industry and government relations. As a private pilot she travelled extensively throughout PNG to undertake her work. Before leaving PNG (and before later regularly returning as a consultant) Lynne was the Chief of Staff to the PNG Minister for the newly formed Fisheries and Marine Resources portfolio.
Lynne’s career extends across the Pacific, Asia and the Middle East, as both a consultant, and leader with staff in these regions and Africa. She has regularly met with Heads of State, Ministers, bilateral and multilateral agencies, industry and communities, particularly when developing and managing the Canadian Government aid program for seven years in seven NW Pacific Island Nations. She continues to undertake governance, program and sustainability program evaluations and audits, (particularly considering the SDGs). She trains people globally in socio economic and community development, and needs assessments.
Within Australia Lynne has worked with and in Commonwealth and state governments, industry and NFPs, in advisory, leadership and consulting roles, with a focus on leadership, visioning, strategy development and planning, effective collaboration and partnerships, stakeholder expectation management, change, company brand positioning and related event and media creation and management.
