The AIIA’s National Conference is Australia’s premier event on Australian foreign policy. The 2019 National Conference provides a unique opportunity to hear and engage directly with experts on Australia’s international affairs. The day will bring together some of Australia’s leading international affairs experts across four sessions examining new developments in international affairs and the place of Australian foreign policy within them.

The 2019 Conference is centred around the central theme of New Agendas for a New Era. Following the opening addresses from our keynote speakers, three panels of experts will present perspectives and share insights on the following topics:

A New Cold War?
New Technology
The Health of the Planet

Masterclasses:

If you are a student or young professional who has purchased a ticket to the main conference event on Monday 14 October, you are eligible to apply for a spot in one of our Masterclass sessions on Sunday 13^th October, held at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Once you have purchased your ticket, please email masterclass@internationalaffairs.org.au with your CV and statement of claims to be considered by the selection committee. Consider in your application which Masterclass you wish to attend (you may select up to two preferences); what perspectives you may bring; and what you hope to gain from the session.

Apply
Applications for masterclasses are due COB Friday 20^th September, and successful candidates will be notified by COB Friday 27^th September. Please note there are a limited number of positions, and therefore not all candidates may be successful. Only those who are registered to attend the conference are eligible to be considered a place in the Masterclass sessions. Candidates will be eligible to attend 1 Masterclass session only.
