Alfred Deakin Professor Fethi Mansouri holds a research chair in Migration and Intercultural Studies (2008-) and the UNESCO Chair for comparative research on cultural diversity and social justice (2013-). He is the founding Director of the Alfred Deakin Institute for Citizenship and Globalisation (ADI) at Deakin University-Australia. He is the editor of the Journal of Intercultural Studies and since 2010 has been serving as an expert advisor to the UN on cultural diversity, and intercultural relations. He also sits on the advisory boards of various government agencies and NGOs. His various research outputs include more than 120 refereed articles and book chapters and more than 40 externally funded research projects including ten projects funded through the Australian Research Council (ARC). He has authored some 20 scholarly books including most recently ‘Racism in Australia Today’ (2021) and ‘Contesting the Theological Foundations of Islam and Violent Extremism (eds, 2019). His book ‘Lives in Limbo: Refugees on Temporary Protection Visas’ was shortlisted for the 2004 Human Rights Medals and Awards. His forthcoming authored book (2023) is titled ‘The Global Politics of Forced Migration’.
