Professor Eliza Wu is the Head of the Discipline of Finance and a Professor of Finance and Banking at the University of Sydney Business School. She has a joint honours degree in Economics and Econometrics and a PhD in Finance from UNSW. Her scholarly research program is focused on banking, corporate finance and the dynamic behaviour of international capital markets, with a particular emphasis on the role of government policies and the impact of financial regulations. She is the Co-Director of the Business Financing and Banking Research Group at the University of Sydney. Eliza has published extensively in high quality international academic journals and her research papers have been accepted for presentations in leading academic conferences and awarded best paper prizes. She has secured competitive research funding from industry and the Australian Research Council. Eliza teaches Banking and Finance at the Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels and she is an experienced PhD supervisor. She is an innovative and experienced educator and she has taught at Universities in Australia, Switzerland and the U.K. Outside of academe, Eliza has worked at the Reserve Bank of Australia and at the Bank for International Settlements’ Representative Office for Asia and the Pacific. She has also served as a research fellow at the Hong Kong Institute for Monetary Research. Eliza has consulted to both national and international organisations on financial stability and related policy areas.
