Dr Denghua Zhang
Dr. Denghua Zhang is a research fellow at the Department of Pacific Affairs, Australian National University. His research focuses on Chinese foreign policy, foreign aid and China in the Pacific. His article ‘China’s influence and local perceptions: the case of Pacific island countries’ was awarded the Boyer Prize by Australian Journal of International Affairs as the best article for 2022. He has also published with journals such as Third World Quarterly, The Pacific Review, Pacific Affairs, International Relations of the Asia-Pacific, The Round Table, Asian Journal of Political Science, Security Challenges and Journal of Pacific History. His book A Cautious New Approach: China’s Growing Trilateral Aid Cooperation is among the Australian National University Pressʼ top ten new releases for 2020.
