David M. Andrews

David M. Andrews is a Senior Policy Advisor at the ANU National Security College and a PhD candidate in International Relations at La Trobe University. He previously held several roles in the Department of Defence, primarily in Strategic Policy Division. His thesis is focused on multilateral security organisations—including the Southeast Asian Treaty Organisation and Five Power Defence Arrangements—and the factors which contribute to their persistence or decline. He has been published by a wide range of outlets, including the Canberra Times, The Conversation, Lowy Interpreter, ASPI Strategist, and the Australian Naval Review.
