Greg Sheridan is The Australian’s foreign editor and one of the most influential national security and foreign affairs analysts in Australia. He also writes about Christianity and culture. His most recent book, How Christians Can Succeed Today, completes a trilogy on Christianity, including the best-selling God is Good for You. Active on TV, radio and as a conference speaker, he has interviewed presidents and prime ministers all over the world, travelling on assignment to every continent except the polar ice caps. A previous book, When We Were Young and Foolish, was an entertaining memoir of culture, politics and journalism. He has been the paper’s Washington correspondent, Beijing correspondent and as foreign editor travels widely, bringing readers unique behind the scenes insights.
Greg entered journalism at the Bulletin magazine in 1979 and joined The Australian in 1984, serving as Beijing correspondent and Washington correspondent. After working in the Canberra press gallery, he became the paper’s foreign editor in 1992, the position he holds today. He has held numerous think tank positions as a Visiting Fellow, including at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies, Washington DC, at the Woodrow Wilson Centre for International Scholars, Washington DC, and at the Australian Army’s Land Warfare Studies Centre, Canberra. He is a Distinguished Fellow at the Australia India Institute at the University of Melbourne and board member at the Australian Government’s Australia Indonesia Institute. He has written seven books and is Contributing Editor at Washington-based journal, the National Interest. He is active across TV and radio and his work has appeared widely in international publications.
