Emeritus Professor Richard Rigby is the Founding Director of the ANU China Institute at the College of Asia Pacific, Australian National University. He is a former Australian diplomat with postings to Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, London and Israel. He joined the Office of National Assessments in 2001 as the Assistant-General.
