Trilateral Dialogue: AIIA, JIIA and ICWA

A bilateral dialogue was held between the Australian Institute of International Affairs and the Indian Council of World Affairs on Tuesday 15th September 2015. A trilateral dialogue involving the Japan Institute of International Affairs was also held on Wednesday 16th September 2015. The events were hosted by the Indian Council of World Affairs at Sapru House, New Delhi. The delegations consisted of diplomats and leading academics with expertise in the themes under discussion. Prominent delegates included the AIIA National President Amb. John McCarthy AO, Amb. Yoshiji Nogami of the Japan Institute of International Affairs and Amb. Nalin Surie of the Indian Council of World Affairs. The objective of the dialogue was to strengthen ties and facilitate an open exchange of ideas on themes such as the evolving Asian security infrastructure, energy and defence cooperation, marine resources, technology and knowledge sharing, maritime security and the role of multilateral institutions in the region. The dialogue ended on a positive note with prospects of future collaboration among the three institutes. The program and profiles of delegates can be found here.
