Ambassador Galego Montano is the designated Ambassador of Cuba to Australia, and the concurrent Ambassador to Papua New Guinea, Nauru, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. He is a career diplomat and has had previous postings to Hanoi, Pyongyang and Tokyo, and held other senior policy positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
