AIIA Hosts Roundtable Dialogue with the Chinese Association for International Understanding

Published 16 Apr 2015

On Wednesday 15 April the AIIA National Office and ACT Branch jointly hosted a roundtable dialogue with the Chinese Association for International Understanding (CAFIU).  The roundtable sought to gain an informed perspective on recent Chinese policy and allow for an exchange of views on recent developments in Australia and China’s bilateral relationship. The dialogue focused on three topics:

1. Recent Chinese policy announcements, including the ‘One Belt and One Road’ policy to strengthen the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road;
2. Progress on bilateral ties after the visit of President Xi to Australia last November; and
3. Opportunities to enhance people-to-people and cultural exchange between China and Australia.

The National Office would like to thank CAFIU and the other participants for their involvement in what proved to be an illuminating discussion.
