Tony Makin is a professor of economics at Griffith University who has served in the federal departments of Finance, Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Treasury, and the International Monetary Fund, and as Director of Griffith’s APEC Study Centre. He is a member of the National Economic Panel of the Economic Society of Australia, has previously taught at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore and in the School of Economics at the University of Queensland, and has published widely on Australian and international economic issues.
