José-Miguel Bello y Villarino is a Research Fellow at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society and the Law School of the University of Sydney and a member (on leave) of the Spanish diplomatic corps. His last posting was as Deputy Head of Mission in Islamabad and he has previously been posted to developing countries in Central America, Western Africa, Eastern Europe and Southeast Asia. His research interests span multiple areas of international law, where he utilises the double lens of practitioner and theorist.
