The recent blog post, ‘Can Australia-India ties flourish if governments are asleep?’, by AIIA National Director Melissa Conley Tyler asks if the Australia-India relationship can grow if both governments are not actively involved. While a lot of activity is taking place outside government, there is still an important role for government support to help grow important national relationships. Governments can play a major role in bolstering the initiatives undertaken by other actors. Thus, both the Australian and Indian governments cannot afford to be asleep if they wish to strengthen Australia-India ties.
