Subrata Banarjee is a PhD scholar at the Department of Pacific Affairs, Australian National University, studying the role of service providers in helping women access justice for domestic violence cases in Bangladesh and PNG. He is from Bangladesh and is an Associate Professor (educational leave) at the Department of Criminology and Police Science, Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has conducted numerous research projects, including the study and planning of the Bangladesh Police cell on policing and criminal justice issues, and has previous work experience in gender rights, policing, labour rights, and children’s rights in developmental organisations. Subrata also worked in Terrorism Prevention at UNODC, Vienna, Austria, in 2012, and graduated with his second MA in Criminology from the University of Ottawa, Canada, and his first Master’s in Criminology and Police Science from Bangladesh.
