María Esperanza Casullo is Associate Professor at the Universidad Nacional de Río Negro in Argentina. She received her PhD from Georgetown University. She publishes regularly on populism, the construction of populist leadership and democratic representation in Latin America. Her most recent work includes at the Handbook of Political Populism (Baden Baden: Nomos, 2017). She is currently researching the construction of populist representation through discourse and bodily performance.
