AIIA in the News

The Australian Institute of International Affairs has recently been featured across a number of media outlets.

National Executive Director Melissa Conley Tyler wrote an article on the The Free Trade Agreement between the EU and Australia that was published in Spanish newspaper El Pais. Her recent book Think Tank Diplomacy was also reviewed by the Institute for Public Diplomacy and Global Communication.

AIIA Fellow Professor Ramesh Thakur’s article ‘Trump is master of the art of making America grate was published in the Japan Times.

AIIA Presidential Associate and former ACT Branch President Ian Dudgeon’s article ‘The Iran nuclear agreement: touch and go?’ was published in The Strategist, the commentary and analysis site of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute.

Dr Daniel Ghezelbash spoke at AIIA NSW’s event ‘Refugee Deterrence and Diplomacy: How states influence each other’s asylum policies’ which gained coverage in an article on Australian asylum seeker policy in the Guardian.

The AIIA was featured in the Wall Street Journal article ‘No Way, Huawaei: Australia Looks to Cut China’s Line into the South Pacific’.

Several Australian Outlook pieces have been republished including by Pearls and Irritations and in the Australian Foreign Affairs Newsletter.
