Impacts of the US Administration on the Japan-Australia relationship

Consul-General of Japan Mr Hidehiro Hosaka arrived to his posting in Brisbane in November 2015. Throughout his career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), his postings have been widespread including the UK, Canberra, Boston, Jeddah, Manila, Croatia, Seattle and Bucharest. Mr Hosaka most recently served as Minister Counsellor, Embassy of Japan in Romania. His foreign language speciality is English.

Mr Hosaka’s interests are widespread, from business promotions, to fostering strong inter-governmental relationships, to the promotion of academic and cultural exchange programmes between Japan and Australia. He greatly supports and encourages the people to people links and friendships created and maintained through the Sister City relationships.

Mr Hosaka is married with one daughter and his personal interests include bird watching, bird photography and jogging. His other hobbies include reading Japanese classical (Heian) literature.
