Australia’s Future: the 2017 Foreign Policy White Paper

The Australian Institute of International Affairs has been invited to promote discussion of the issues to be covered in the forthcoming White Paper on Foreign Policy. These issues will include security, trade and development assistance.

At a special event on Tuesday 7 February, AIIA New South Wales will host a discussion of the White Paper with Ms Rebecca Bryant, from the White Paper Taskforce in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

There will not be a formal presentation, but Ms Bryant will facilitate a discussion assisted by the foundation documents for the White Paper. Further details about the White Paper can be seen at http://dfat.gov.au/whitepaper/index.html

AIIA NSW president Richard Broinowski will chair discussion of issues of concern to AIIA members, who will be encouraged to make written submissions to the White Paper Taskforce ahead of the deadline for contributions on 28 February.

On this occasion, there will be no charge for the event. Light refreshments will be provided from 6.00 pm, with discussion continuing until 7.30 pm.
