Australia’s Future: the 2017 Foreign Policy White Paper. Roundtable event.

Wednesday 22nd February 2017 10:00am to 12:00pm

The Government is calling for public submissions as it prepares a new Foreign Policy White Paper, scheduled for release in mid-2017.  The White Paper will establish a comprehensive strategy guiding Australia’s international engagement over the next 10 years.

This is your opportunity to help shape the foreign policy framework for Australia’s global interests in a dynamic, complex and unpredictable international environment.

At a special event on Wednesday 22nd February, AIIA Victoria is honoured to welcome Ms Jan Hutton, Director of the White Paper Taskforce in the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

There will not be a formal presentation, but as part of the public consultation process AIIA will host a discussion of the issues to be covered in the White Paper.  Its specific terms of reference include security, trade and development assistance.

AIIA members are invited to the discussion to share their views, and are encouraged to make written submissions to the White Paper Taskforce ahead of the deadline for contributions on 28th February.

Further details of the White Paper are available at: http://dfat.gov.au/whitepaper

This is a member only event.

Free entry but BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL – limited seating.

Please note different timing.  Tea and coffee provided.
