AJIA Commentaries and Provocations

Published 19 Jun 2014

The newest edition of the Australian Journal of International Affairs introduces a new section entitled ‘Commentary and Provocation’. This section will be made up of high quality and engaging pieces of commentary, opinion and provocations on topical issues that fall within the editorial remit of the journal.

The purpose of this section is to fill a gap that exists between the longer scholarly articles that the journal publishes and short pieces that appear in blogs and op-ed pages. Pieces will be shorter than original articles with a word length of between 1,000 and 4,000 words and will have a range of styles. Contributions will be published quickly so as to add to broader public and policy debate. All articles in this section will conform to the journal’s house style and should be submitted via Manuscript Central as outlined in instructions to contributors. The Editor in Chief will decide which submissions will be published. Articles in this section will not be subject to peer review and should not be regarded as original research publications.
