The Australian Institute of International Affairs was represented at the Second Global Think Tank Summit and Third European Think Tank Summit on October 1-3 2015. The event was co-organized by The Italian Institute for International Political Studies (ISPI) and the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program at the University of Pennsylvania (TTCSP). Over 90 think tanks from Europe and all over the world participated in the summit.

On October 1, AIIA National President John McCarthy AO, spoke on the opening panel, “Navigating Turbulent Times and Transitions. Regional and Global Perspectives”.

In January 2015 the AIIA was ranked the top think tank in South East Asia and the Pacific in the annual Global Go To Think Tanks Index compiled by the University of Pennsylvania’s Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program. The AIIA has been involved in previous Think20 events.
