Geoffrey Ewing

Geoffrey is the Principal of Negotiation Solutions, his own firm which specialises in assisting companies in major commercial negotiations. He has extensive experience in the resources, professional services and construction industries. Negotiations Solutions’ recent work has included securing an option for Tarong Energy to buy a 7 million tonnes per annum coal mine, resolution of intra practice disputes for a professional services firm, and facilitation of an Australia wide agreement on intellectual property amongst government agencies.

Geoffrey is a teacher of negotiation skills and an accredited mediator, arbitrator and adjudicator, with international experience.

Geoffrey’s early professional career was as a litigation partner with a Melbourne law firm. He then joined Rio Tinto to become Corporate Counsel and then Company Secretary with Bougainville Copper Limited in Papua New Guinea. Subsequent roles with Rio Tinto included Assistant Director, Minerals Council of Australia, General Manager, Gladstone Power Station Investment and General Manager External Affairs with Rio Tinto Aluminium. Geoffrey is also a director of Museum and Gallery Services, Queensland and President of The Australian Institute for International Affairs, Queensland Branch.

Married to Jan, Geoffrey lives on five acres at Cedar Creek outside Brisbane. They enjoy, travel, the arts and bushwalking. Geoffrey and Jan have three children at university.
